Hi, my name is Mark A Bradley and I have a request. I am all but 64-year-old man with a family of 4. I also am happy to say both of my parents are still alive at Dad 95 years old and mom at 96 years old. During my lifetime I have been an avid hunter, fisherman, boater and camping individual. During all these leisure activities you need one thing a good flashlight. I have purchased so many flashlights over my lifetime it is ridiculous. Between head lights, spot lights and especially flashlights I have many. At first, they are great then like everything else they get dropped, bulb burns out or they just stop working. I made up my mind years ago to spend my hard-earned money on good lights. All my lights were not your companies however the majority were. Here is the problem. Last fall of 2018 I spent a week with my mom and dad in Saint Petersburg, FL for a visit. My dad of 95 years old mentioned to me that he needed a flashlight for himself. I went out immediately and bought an Energizer light that held 4 double A batteries. The cost was just around $ 30.00 at Ace Hardware store. He loved the light and so did I. A few months later my parents returned to Cresson, PA to visit the children. This is where I grew up and the entire family besides myself continue to live. I am sorry I am driving your crazy right now and you are thinking Get to the point—however I want this to really get read though by someone that cares. I realize in todays society this is a lost cause for most of the people, but I need to try anyhow. During this time, I once again visited my parents and was told once again by my father he needed a light so once again the exact flashlight was purchased. I was under the impression he left the 1st light in Florida and now needed one in PA. Three weeks later both lights were lying on my dads table and he told me neither one worked. So now I have both lights and 8 new batteries sitting in front of me. All the batteries were tested and were good. They were placed correctly into the lights and one light came on. This lasted for 2 minutes before it went out and would not turn back on. This went on for a while, on then off again. The other light would not work at all. My dad asked me to take care of the lights for him.
Now let me explain something to whomever is reading this. I am not a nut and trying to get a free flashlight. Not at all. I am a man with my own family with grandchildren. My father taught me many things in life. I am a proud son. He served in WW11 as a pilot flying a plane called a corsair for many years. He was considered an ACE pilot. I only found much of his history as he was becoming older and older. Now every time I visit he tells the same stories repeatedly however he does add to them which I love to hear. He at this point in time he knows he is near death and constantly brings this up to prepare his 4 children which destroys me to listen. He was said to be the youngest man to join the navy and become a pilot. Yes, he lied about his age. But he fought for his country and now he is getting older and older. He is a proud man. Not many men left that fought for this country and still alive from WW11. I brought both lights back to my home this past weekend but left both in my truck at home. My intension was to send both back to you and see what my options were. I want you to know if you say nothing can be done that will be fine and I can simply buy 2 more lights. I am not rich and 2 light at 30.00 a piece is a lot, but I will do it. As I said I can send both lights back to your company within 1 day of today. I just did not want to pay for postage to have a company tell me nothing can be done and then have to spend more money buying 2 new lights. Once again, I probably have you pulling your hair pout reading this letter but I want to get through to someone and not have this letter just read and thrown out. This is what I would hope. My simple wish is to have this read and Passed on to someone up line. I know and in no way downgrading your position at all. I am in your position also. I know the feeling believe me. There is always someone to report up to. That is life. I would like to share this letter with a older gentleman or lady that remembers that time in life. Especially the depression my parents went through, it had to be terrible during those days. I wish they would think of what people went through and not just forget about older people. I am fortunate to have parents still alive. If the light need to be shipped back, it is real easy and as I said I can take pictures of the light and e-mail them back. I thought you might want to check them both out for quality improvement to find why this happened.
Now to finish this up. I am including my name and address along with my dads address/phone number. If you chose to call him for proof.

Here's a helpful hint for the next time you need batteries: wander on over to a Dollar Tree store and purchase a pack of alkaline batteries or heavy duty ones for a dollar a package. Given the high cost of the highly-overrated Energizer brand you can save alot of money by buying many packages of the dollar store ones instead of just a few of the Energizer ones.
As for the $5 rebate, forget it but remember the brand name Energizer the next time you need batteries as the ones to stay far away from. Apparently, Energizer doesn't really care about customer service.
