Verified ReviewerCompany does not stand behind its batteries
Alkaline D cell batteries leaked, destroying flashlight and damaging furniture. Reported this to Energizer customer service by phone and email with attached high resolution pictures of the leaking batteries, damaged flashlight and damage to furniture.
Energizer blew me off saying they could not determine expiration date of batteries, and would not compensate for batteries beyond their expiration date. I argued, to no avail, that expiration date was irrelevant -- I was not complaining the batteries were discharged, but rather that because of defective design or manufacturing, caustic electrolyte was able to leak from the battery case, and that should never happen under normal usage.
This was in fact the third occurrence of leakage with resultant damage from Energizer alkaline batteries. For me, it will be the last. Given the customer "support" I recently received from Energizer, I will not be buying their product again.
Apparantly poorly designed or manufactured. And in any case they don't stand behind it.

Issue still unresolved
Customer service is located in Egypt and the local structure and reliable network, service and infrastructure may not be the same as where the product was bought with a USA Energizer address.
Right now i am frustrated and angry. Wasted so much time trying to resolve this issue.
Within a minute I get the email rejected, so I called the same 800-customer service #, and they tell me oh yeah, we forgot to tell you that our systems are down. Can you please reply to the email tomorrow when the system is fixed.
So, for the next 5 days I have been trying to get my email to reach them with the information they asked for and every time my email is rejected. By now, not only am I annoyed that I put faith in buying the Energizer product, my wasted time and also hoping that they would help replace their defective product.
